→ Noghera, 2021
Noghera was born during a five-day workshop. The aim of the experience was to design a fruit bowl which could contain one portion of a chosen food during the first day and to prototype the idea using only tools found in the house in the following four days.
Noghera is named after the walnut tree in venetian dialect, and is made with two jute bags, thanks to the natural rigidity of the shell of the fruit. One half can contain maximum seven walnuts; the other is used to store the shells of the opened fruit. Both of the bags can be closed using strings, allowing the fruit bowl to be as compact as possible when partially full or empty.
Noghera has also a metallic wedge, prototyped using wood, which is used to open the shell slowly pushing the soft part that separates the two parts of the shell.
